Thinking of earning with your bike, CNG or car? Signing up as a ride sharing driver in Bangladesh takes less time than most people expect, as long as your papers are ready. Here is exactly what you need.
Who can drive
- You are at least 18 and hold a valid driving licence for your vehicle class
- You own or have permission to use a registered vehicle
- Your vehicle papers are valid and up to date
- You have an Android smartphone with mobile data
The documents you need
Have clear photos of each of these ready before you start:
- National ID (NID), front and back
- Driving licence, front and back, with the expiry date
- Vehicle registration certificate
- Tax token
- Fitness certificate, with its expiry date (for vehicles that require one)
- A clear photo of yourself, taken in the app
Blurry photos are the most common reason applications are delayed, so take them in good light, flat on a table.
BRTA rules you should know
Ride sharing in Bangladesh is governed by the Ride Sharing Service Guidelines 2017. Under the guidelines, ride sharing companies are enlisted with BRTA, and drivers and vehicles used for ride sharing are also expected to be enlisted, with certificates renewed periodically. Your platform will guide you on any enlistment steps that apply to your vehicle.
