Ride Sharing Driver Income in Bangladesh: What You Really Keep in 2026

How much do ride sharing drivers earn in Bangladesh? A clear breakdown of commission, fees and real take home pay, with worked examples for bike, CNG and car drivers.

By the Arohon team

If you drive for a ride sharing app, the most important number is not the fare. It is how much of that fare stays in your pocket. This guide breaks down where your money goes and shows what changes when the commission drops to 2%.

Where a driver's money goes

On every trip, the fare a rider pays is split between:

  1. The platform's commission, a percentage of the fare
  2. Any platform or booking fees
  3. Your costs: fuel or gas, maintenance, mobile data, and rent if you do not own the vehicle

Most ride apps in Bangladesh have taken 15% to 25% commission. That is why, in 2019, thousands of drivers in Dhaka went on strike over a 25% cut and asked for 12%, and why driver unions still campaign for a cap today.

The difference 2% makes

Arohon charges a flat 2% commission, plus a ৳3 safety charge and a booking fee by fare size (৳5 below ৳200, ৳10 for ৳200 to ৳349, ৳15 for ৳350 to ৳499, ৳20 from ৳500).

Here is what that means per trip, compared with a typical 20% commission:

  • ৳100: Arohon takes ৳10, You keep on Arohon ৳90, You keep at 20% ৳80
  • ৳200: Arohon takes ৳17, You keep on Arohon ৳183, You keep at 20% ৳160
  • ৳300: Arohon takes ৳19, You keep on Arohon ৳281, You keep at 20% ৳240
  • ৳500: Arohon takes ৳33, You keep on Arohon ৳467, You keep at 20% ৳400

The bigger the fare, the bigger the gap. On a ৳500 trip you keep ৳67 more.

A month of driving: worked examples

These examples are illustrations, not promises. Your earnings depend on hours, area and demand.

  • Fares collected: about ৳58,500
  • At 20% commission you keep about ৳46,800
  • On Arohon you keep about ৳54,200

  • Fares collected: about ৳93,600
  • At 20% you keep about ৳74,900
  • On Arohon you keep about ৳88,000

Subtract your fuel, maintenance and any vehicle rent to get your true profit.

Why low commission keeps you on the app

When a platform takes a quarter of every fare, many drivers stop using it and pick up passengers on the street instead. That feels like more money, but it comes with real risks: no trip record, no support if a passenger refuses to pay, and no rewards. With a 2% commission, the app costs you almost nothing, and you keep the protection.

How you get paid

Rides are paid in cash by the rider at the end of the trip, so you have your money the moment the ride ends. The small Arohon fee is settled from the app, and you can see every trip, fee and payout in your income screen.

Ways to earn more

  • Drive at peak times in busy areas like Gulshan, Banani, Motijheel and Uttara.
  • Accept intercity and rental trips for bigger fares.
  • Keep a high rating so riders and rental customers choose you.
  • Switch to an EV bike to cut fuel costs.
  • Refer other drivers and earn a referral reward.
